Efficient New Build on Bodmin Moor

We are excited to introduce to you A & K Architectural Services best example yet of efficient living with out a premium price tag.

This new build has been guided through planning, building regulation approval and construction under the professional eye of our directors.

In terms of design the split level bungalow features three ensuite bedrooms, a large kitchen diner, lounge with log burner, exercise room, office and extra large double garage.  Two of the bedrooms also benefit from their own private living rooms and sound reducing internal walls have been installed to ensure its habitants privacy.

The dwelling features a high level of insulation and achieves an air tightness test result of 1/10th of current building regulation standards (2016).  This, combined with a mechanical heat recovery and ventilation system ensures a perfectly comfortable climate within the bungalow no matter what the exterior temperature is.

It is heated with a wet underfloor heating system powered by a modern oil fed boiler with mains pressure water being supplied by an unvented water cylinder that is heated using the photovoltaic solar panels set within the roof.

All of this makes for some astounding figures that we here are very proud to present to you.  The dwelling has an EPC score of 96 with real world annual running costs (after the PV tariff) of a little over £100-00 per year.

More interestingly this has not come at a huge cost.  A & K Architectural services carefully designed the specification for the house using conventional off the shelf building materials that are affordable by nature.  The uplift in cost to achieve this standard of build from current building regulation standards came in at just 6% of the build cost which represents an ROI of less than 10 years not to mention a far superior home to live in.
